Hello. We are TheLunarCrew, creator and admin of this forum.
We are an adult who is still trying to figure out adulthood, and a DID system of 37 of us. We are diagnosed with PTSD, ADHD, OCD, Anxiety, Depression, DID, and Auditory & Visual Hallucinations - Cause Unknown.
(Our current psychiatrist want to diagnose us with Psychosis due to our hallucinations, but we're fighting it because we don't have a disconnection with reality as described for psychosis. Our therapist disagrees with the psychosis diagnosis as well. We dissociate, yes, but we can almost always tell what's real and what isn't, and we can tell what is a hallucination and what's not. With psychosis, you can't tell what's real and what's isn't, and can think that completely untrue things are real/true. There's more symptoms we don't match, but that's the main one).
We are also suspected to be somewhere on the Autism Spectrum, and we are awaiting further evaluation.
Our system is mainly male with a few female alters and a couple alters of other genders. Our pronouns change depending on who is out, but as a whole we identify as Transmasc/Transmasculine Non-binary. If anyone's uncertain of who is out or their gender, "they/them" pronouns are preferred. The body is 30 years old, and we have experienced a lot in our life. We enjoy playing pool, going for walks, art/drawing (particularly with Sharpies), reading, listening to music, watching movies, moon and star gazing, writing poetry, and singing karaoke.
This forum was created to be a safe space for those with DID and other dissociative disorders/conditions, and those supportive of dissociative disorders/conditions. A place where information and resources could be found as well as a safe space to be able to interact with others online, share experiences, share artwork, be able to freely write in a journal, vent about stuff, and other such things.
Our hope is that this forum is able to be helpful to others and provide a safe space to those that may not have one; a place where we can all freely be ourselves; a place where we can all learn and grow. We have always been interested in psychology, and we took college level psychology classes in high school. We had dreams of becoming a therapist one day, (preferably a DID specialist), but sadly, those dreams may be unrealistic with the money, time, and energy necessary for the 10+ years of schooling. So we've changed our focus to try and be helpful to friends and people over the internet, and try to help raise awareness/knowledge of DID on social media.
We welcome everyone here and hope that everyone is able to find this place helpful to them in some way.
